Donovan Creative launches secondary immigration campaign
'Tell Somebody' with Edmonton Economic Development Corporation
June 30, 2006 - 'Tell Somebody', An innovative word-of-mouth campaign to attract secondary immigrants to the Alberta Capital Region, has been launched by Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC). The campaign created by Donovan Creative Communications makes use of the web, print and outdoor media to raise awareness of the job and lifestyle opportunities available in the region, and targets ethnic communities across Canada, including Chinese, Philippino, East Indian, and African.
"We're working to find innovative, cost-effective ways to spread the message of the wealth of opportunity available in Edmonton," says Donovan Creative Marketing Director, Paul Strong. "'Tell Somebody' is the perfect viral marketing, word of mouth vehicle for the message about Edmonton and the Greater Edmonton Region. We are asking people to pass it on, to spread the word in exchange for a prize. The return for our client [EEDC] is that they have a much better idea which ethnic communities they should be targeting for messages about employment opportunities."
The 'Tell Somebody' campaign is also being supplemented by public relations and industry relations programs in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada, through PR partner Porter Novelli.
The 'Tell Somebody' campaign is scheduled to run until the end of December, 2006.
